A Christmas Messege

A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

This is my favorite time of the year! In spite of the hordes of hurried humans hectically hurrying hither and yon, I simply love it! Yes there are grumpy Grinches grumbling and groaning everywhere you may roam but they are overshadowed by the proliference of positive populace patiently plodding through public places.

Some say the true meaning has been lost, yet I see friendly faces everywhere. I hear conversations popping up between total strangers while in those laborious long lines. Rather than complaints I see comradery. And on the other side of those check-out counters, in spite of the fact that they must be tired I am feeling warmth and courteousness. I have seen very few short tempers and virtually no rudeness.

Just the other day a total stranger waved my wife to follow as she was pulling into a parking lot. He pointed to his car saying, “I’m leaving take my spot.” And why did he single her out for this generous gesture? Simply because she was driving the same model SUV he was.

Why do people spend tons of money decorating the exterior of their homes? Because it makes others feel good. Last week my wife and I were working on setting up some decorations and a gentleman stopped as he was driving by to tell us that his grandson loves our display and that they had to come by the house several times last year. I can’t express the wonderful feeling that gave me.

The whole world is in a far bigger hurry than it has ever been, yet you have no choice but to slow down and wait, and rather than grumbling people are making the best of it, engaging with people they might otherwise never speak to.

How can anyone say the real meaning is lost when there is so much warmth and joy and positive energy all around us? Isn’t that what its really all about?
Merry Christmas Everyone
Bill
